Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and his family is believed to be planning a parallel ceremony on the first death anniversary of his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on September 2. Th State government and the Congress party in the state are planning major events on September 2 to commemorate YSR on his first death anniversary. The government is planning the inauguration of YSR Smrithi Vanam at Necklace Road and at also at Pavurala Gutta, where YSR’s chopper crashed last year. Simultaneously, the Congress party, too, is planning major programmes on that day, including a commemoration meeting at Gandhi Bhavan which would be attended by national leaders including Veerappa Moily. However, Jagan and his family are learnt to have decided to stay from these programmes and are planning to have their own programmes at Idupulapaya and also Tirupati. One of the reasons is of course the ongoing confrontation with the high command over Odarpu Yatra and secondly, Jagan is upset with the Rosaiah government for not involving him in deciding the first death anniversary programmes at any stage. “Things would have been different, had Jagan been involved in the programmes both by the PCC and the government,” a Jagan follower said. On Friday, Jagan released a poster with regard to YSR’s death anniversary programmes to be held at Tirupati on September 2. Needless to say, the poster had no picture of Sonia Gandhi or Rosaiah!
