Will KVP Replace DS In Gandhi Bhavan? It is almost certain that Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas is on the way out of Gandhi Bhavan. Though there are reports that he has decided to step down on his own, there is also another version that the high command might ask him to continue till it finds a replacement during the organizational elections in September. Now the talk in Gandhi Bhavan is about who would be replacing DS as the PCC president. There is a strong demand from the supporters of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy that he should be given the party reins if the high command wants the Congress to return to power in 2014 elections, it is the most unlikely choice because he had already entered into confrontation mode with the party leadership. Secondly, he is definitely not acceptable to the Telangana leaders, as the party might lose heavily in the region because of his pro-united Andhra stand. Two names are being heard in the corridors of Gandhi Bhavan as an alternative to DS. One is that of former Assembly speaker K R Suresh Reddy because of his non-controversial and smooth character that would be acceptable to all. The second name is that of K Kesava Rao, who held the post earlier and has strong links in the high command. However, the dark horse could even be Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao, who has complete control over the party MLAs and cadres across the state, because of his proximity with late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
