HYDERABAD: The results of the byelections clearly showed that the Congress and the Telugu Desam have lost credibility among people of the Telangana region, State BJP president G. Kishan Reddy said here on Friday.

Mr. Reddy told reporters here that people were aware that both the parties would promise something and change their stand later.

In spite of the Congress spending crores of rupees and supplying liquor in Nizamabad Urban Constituency, people have voted for Telangana and re-elected BJP nominee Y. Lakshminarayana. Thanking the electorate for their support to BJP, he said although Telugu Desam President N. Chandrababu Naidu tried to gain "mileage" in the name of Babli, it did not work. He claimed that despite false propaganda against BJP, many Muslims voted for the party.

The BJP was totally "dissatisfied" with the Election Commission as no action was taken on any of the petitions submitted by the party.

The party leadership would meet here on August 4 and chalk out the future programme. A week-long 'Nyaya yatras' would be launched on August 8 to protest against the misuse of CBI by the Centre.
