If your TV is in different location from router, the STB needs internet connection over wireless. The box from reliable does not have wireless client built-in. You need to get a wireless gaming adapter for this. | ||

Stick a wirless router after the cable modem. ISP -> cable modem -> wireless router -> iptv box (all wired connections) laptop connect to router over wireless. This works, if your TV is in the vicinity to modem/router. | ||

I have YuppTV subscription. I noticed, for some of the channels, they have HD versions like Zee Telugu and Zee Telugu HD. when I switch to HD version, it is buffering for most of the time and not pleasant to watch. And, this is on a wired PC with 30 mbps connection. | ||

In theory, yes. But, not practical. HD streaming takes lot of bandwidth and puts big load on their servers. YouTube does HD video, but only if the source is HD to begin with. Why would anyone upscale and broadcast? | ||

If they let you use your account simultaneously, you should be able to login to their site on a laptop and watch the stream. This would work same as YuppTV which does not allow me to watch on different computers same time (within my house). I have to stop the streaming, logoff on 1st PC and login on second. Otherwise, I see a message saying, I am already logged in elsewhere and try after 5 minutes. | ||

Video upconversion thru software is not possible for real-time streaming. This can be done in theory, for on-demand movies. But, nobody does this, because you need awful lot of bandwidth to broadcast such stream. Hardware upscalers are helpful, but are used on client-side. If the source is SD, the only viable option is to broadcast it as is. Let their STB upscale in realtime. But, this needs STB to have potent processor and GPU accelerated video card. I doubt, if they can do it on $69 box. | ||

They use standard definition source of Maa & Etv (PAL Signal which is 720 x 576 = 414,720 Pixels 4:3) and putting it on LCD Panel TV via (720 x 576 = 414,720 16:9 format) and encoding it using x.264 and displaying thru HD Media Player box, via HDMI.
